Affiliate Summit gives people opportunities to ask the affiliates in their various niches all kinds of questions. I just got back from Las Vegas after a longer than expected flight caused by New England’s fickle weather. Despite being tired and “Vegased out,” Affiliate Summit West 2013 was a HUGE success!
My most notable accomplishment was my panel on SEO for Beginning Bloggers and Affiliate Marketers. Stephanie Lichtenstein, John Carcutt and myself spoke on the importance of content and social media for SEO and WordPress SEO by Yoast as a beginner’s tool.
Keynote Speakers
Keynote speakers at Affiliate Summit are to provide some inspiration and motivation to attendees. I bawled like a child when Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger spoke and played the last five minutes of the movie. I was able to ask him THE QUESTION too! I also chatted with Julie Aigner-Clark after she told the crowd how she took Baby Einstein from a start-up to over $23 million in sales in five years. Clark sold the company to Disney Corp. in 2001 for BIG BUCKS. I’ll be interviewing her for The Shark Tank Blog (Mark Burnett wants her to be a Shark). My lucky keynote was the informative talk on conversion tactics by Tim Ash. He drew my name out of a hat for a free pass to Conversion Conference in Boston next September – that’s a $2,000 prize – THANKS TIM!
Parties at Affiliate Summit
The parties at Affiliate Summit are a blast. Sunday night I hit the shareasale.com Masquerade Ball at Paris out on the deck. It was freezing, but the party still ROCKED! Monday night I went to DK’s Poker Tournament and finished in the money at second place! After that I went over to Tao at the Venetian for a HUGE bash with beaucoup martinis, cigars and go-go girls too! Ask the affiliates who attend these events and they’ll say these parties are a HUGE part of Affiliate Summit.
While the parties are a lot of fun, I was there to do a little business too. Thankfully, I accomplished everything I set out to do and then some. I have a couple of big announcements in the coming weeks and months as a direct result of some deals I put together in Las Vegas – exciting stuff.
Ask the Affiliates Video
Last year I went around to ask the affiliates THE QUESTION: “Do you put ketchup on your hot dogs?” I couldn’t do the same thing this year, so I came up with a new question. Check out the video to see what I ask the affiliates this year!

It is so awesome to see people blogging these days. It is a sad consequence of facebook that blogging seems to have almost stopped amongst marketers. Congratulations again on finishing in the money!
